Just when you thought you'd seen the last of RENNTECH's work on the Mercedes SLR McLaren, the company is back tuning the supercar yet again, unveiling what they call the "777 Concept." The model is being introduced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of RENNTECH, and as such, it shows fantastically the magic RENNTECH-tuned models are capable of.
Seven hundred seventy-seven horsepower; a top speed of more than 210 miles-per-hour; extensive lightweight aerodynamic body components; and a limited production of just 20 units – this is just a sampling of what customers of the RENNTECH 777 concept have to look forward to.

evaluate a group of cars at the test track, it's often the case that we inadvertently get to compare dissimilar vehicles, be it contrasting type (sports car versus SUV), configuration (coupe versus sedan), engine (V-6 versus V-12), or simply price point. Side by side, these unrelated vehicles can often shed light on one another at revealing angles, making some cars shine and others lose luster.
Looking at the two, in person or on paper, they do share apparent similarities. Each is a front-engine, rear-drive sports car offering seating for two adults and a low-slung stance a mere hand's width off the ground. Yet, the idea that a $34,000 Z would be a match for a $278,000 Aston, much less outperform it in some respects, never crossed our minds, especially considering the Brit has six cylinders and 178 horsepower on the car
the flagship of the brand, not to mention James Bond's transporter. And the Z? Sure, it's Nissan's iconic nameplate, but it's more for those working nine to five than it is for 007. But like Rocky Balboa's left hook, a blue-collar punch can pack a potent sting.
The hills echo with the yowl of a cranked-up Lamborghini V12 as the speedometer needle swings past 120 mph. A corner looms large, and with a stab at the brakes and a crackle from the engine as the transmission drops down a gear, the car is into the bend. The rear slips wide, and if you're waiting for the typical Murciélago's all-wheel-drive system to catch you, then you're in for a bit of a shock.
This is a truly terrifying moment. The ground is wet, this is one of just five Christian Audigier special editions from Edo Competition, and the car costs $642,390. We suddenly wonder if we have the talent to keep up with a car that Lamborghini itself has said is simply too mad to make.
But then came the magic words of Edo, the master tuning specialist who has worked with some of the world's most exotic cars at Edo Competition Motorsport GmbH in Ahlen, a little German town in Westfalia. And as he promised, this rear-wheel-drive Lamborghini slides through bends beautifully, as benign as a Hindu cow and much more talkative.
The overblown concept design sits on 21-inch, diamond-effect, aluminium wheels with white-to-grey flared paint work and sleek carbon fiber rear view mirrors that run back behind the wheel arches towards the low-slung front end. Inside the two padded racing seats are finished in black leather with touches of copper and steel used throughout the cabin and a red LED head-up display for key driver information to create what's described as an "opulent and powerful racing environment".
You'll recall the GT as the design which Citroen unveiled together with the creators of the Gran Turismo video game franchise last year in Paris. The closest the concept was ever meant to get to reality was the single show car built and the digitized version which gamers would be able to play on PS3, but earlier this month, we reported that the French automaker was receiving enough interest on the car to consider putting it into very limited production.

The elegance of the coupe comes from the CL 65’s elegant yet powerful body. Kicherer improves its exterior with carbon parts of the highest quality. This carbon package consists of a front grill, mirror shells, a rear diffuser and a front apron with a deflector constructed from precious material. The chassis moves the car about 25 millimeters closer to the tarmac and provides it with a much more athletic characteristic.
Because of it slong spokes, the rim seems to appear bigger without decreasing its stylishness. Pure luxury is to be found in the interior. Special quilted nappa leather seats, a hand-crafted shag pile carpet covering the whole legroom, carbon intarsia and a matching alcantara ceiling.
In order to regulate its powers, Kicherer has put in place a high-performance braking system with composite brake discs. And, in order to transfigure those powers into performance, Kicherer has opted for a sports rear axle with differential lock, a modified translation and a reprogrammed transmission control system. Thus, the Kicherer CL 65 is the ideal incarnation of its three key qualities “style”, “comfort” and “power.”
